Local bartenders faced off in an Iron Bartender competition Monday at the Red Carpet Martini Lounge.
Contestants each grabbed a different Thatcher’s Organic Artisan Spirits flavor and a mystery bag of ingredients. They had 20 minutes to create a cocktail using all of the items.
Scott Lennar of Old Capital Tavern Catering in Sauk Rapids won the judges’ vote, earning $250. He picked the Tres Chiles flavor of Thatcher’s, and his mystery bag included cilantro, avocado and grapefruit. He also added tomatillos that he brought to the competition.
